Virtual box is a software created by company Innotek GmbH, purchased by Sun Microsystems  and now developing by Oracle.

At first it is a commercial software later in 2007 it was released as a open source software and released under GPL license.
Any way,if we come to the terms host OS & gust OS, the OS in which we install Virtual Box is called Host OS   and the OS which is installed in virtual box is known as Gust OS.

And the features of the Virtual box are:

  • The PUEL/OSE separation was given up in favor of an open source base product and a closed source extension pack that can be installed on top of the base product. As part of this change, additional components of VirtualBox were made open source (installers, documentation, device drivers)
